Audio-Visual Deterrents

Note: All audio-visual deterrents are considered short-term, and should be reinforced with other techniques.

Bird Wailer - The Electronic Bird Deterrent. Ideal for fruit crops, fish farms, arable crops, hangars, etc. The Bird Wailer is the most technologically advanced electronic bird deterrent available, creating a "scare zone" where it is uncomfortable for many species of pest birds to remain. "Surround sound" is created by electronically moving the 94 different combinations of electronic and/or natural sounds randomly from speaker to speaker for varying durations, at variable intervals. This unique feature lessens the likelihood of birds becoming familiar with a pattern, which can happen with conventional scare devices. The master unit consists of electronic chips with four high frequency speakers and two low frequency speakers, plus four outlets for remote speakers. Powered by a 12 volt battery, or 110 volts, it is equipped with external controls to accurately program the unit. Master Unit Alone: Ideal as a general purpose deterrent giving rotational sweeping movement of sounds around the unit. Additional Remote Speakers: In intensive situations like aquacultures, vineyards, etc., the combination of sounds moving from the master unit to the speakers more effectively protects the area. Zon Gun: Propane Cannon for Airports, etc. A lightweight portable propane-fired cannon emits automatic thunderclaps that deters birds and other nuisance wildlife. The intervals between detonations can be adjusted from 2-30 minutes. The Zon Gun operates on LP gas and uses a 'peizo' lighter for ignition, wh ich is good for 100,000 sparks. Each 10kg bottle of propane produces 12-15,000 detonations. Three models available:

A. Rotating Double Gun: Two succeeding detonations in opposite directions, can be raised off the ground up to 10', ideal from higher crops and trees. Call for pricing.

B. Rotating Single Gun: Double noise control by changing directions of the detonations. Each detonation causes head to rotate 60 degrees, gas bottle rotates too. Up to 4' off ground. Call for pricing.

A. Woodpecker Hole Filler: Non-toxic, pliable, quick setting, hole filler exudes an aromatic and taste deterrent when pecked. Two part, makes about 2 pints. Can be painted.

B. Protective Coating Spray: Non-toxic spray solution designed to provide initial protective skin to cover repaired areas or as a stand alone product on areas where woodpecker damage is anticipated. One quart spray bottle.

Bird-Gard: An electronic repeller that uses species specific distress signals recorded onto a micro chip. All units have on-off and volume control, a "time off" phase between sounds and a day-night 24 hour switch. Ideal for spot dispersal of flocking birds in small areas. Dryer Vent Closure: Keeps out birds, snakes, rodents, bugs and saves energy bills throughout the year by keeping the cold out and the heat in. Made of durable ABS plastic, it withstands temperature extremes from 230 above to 148 degrees below zero. A floating shuttle lifts up when the dryer is on, allowing air to exit. Can be painted to match the building.
