Typical Birdwire Installation

A typical Birdwire installation involves multiple rows of thin, stainless steel wire, spring tensioned between stainless steel posts. In this case, the posts are anchored into the ledge by drilling small holes, inserting nylon anchor rivets, and hammering in the posts for a very secure installation. As the diagram indicates, the first row of posts (on the outer edge of the ledge) should be no more than 1" for the edge. The posts behind the first post should be no more than 3" apart. The gap behind the last post and the back wall can be no more than 3". Posts are mounted no more than five feet down the lenght of the ledge. The wire is installed in ten foot tections. A spring is installed at one end, while both ends are made into a loop with small Birdwire crimps. Very Discreet
The Birdwire system is the least visible of all ledge products, and as a result is commonly used on high-visibility ledges where aesthetics are important. Birdwire blends with the architecture even up-close. How It Works
The system consists of nylon-coated, spring-tensioned stainless steel wire supported between stainless steel posts. These wires provide a very unstable landing platform for the birds which scares them off. The posts are either anchored into stone-work using nylon anchor rivets, which requires drilling into the surface, or by using the glue-on bases which can be installed without drilling holes. Variety of Options
The posts are available in various sizes and many different brackets and clamps allow installation on otherwise hard-to-protect surfaces like sprinkler pipes, rain gutters and I-beams. Stainless steel split pins can be used to install the system inside window reveals. Totally Humane
It is literally impossible for a bird or human to sustain an injury on any part of the Birdwire system.
Special attachments like the gutter clamp, railing clamp and glue-on bases make it possible to run the Birdwire system on literally any application.
